Since 1991, Gina Tomes has spearheaded human services pro-life programming and housing for women who are experiencing an unexpected pregnancy and parenting families who face barriers such as homelessness, poverty, addiction, abuse, and lack of family support. Functioning as a leader, Gina provides administrative oversight of daily staff activity and house operations. She aims to drive community support and awareness by presenting educational speeches to the public, churches, corporations, civic groups, donors, political leaders, and pro-life supporters.
Gina’s passion to walk alongside women experiencing an unexpected pregnancy led her to help launch the Bethlehem House in Omaha, Nebraska. Serving in many capacities at Bethlehem House, she will share her determination, devotion, and heart, led to helping develop a flagship maternity home that has proven outcomes, and transformative relationships and impact. Gina’s programming development encompasses addressing the breakdown of the family, addiction, poverty, abuse, and so much more.
Maternity Housing is personal to Gina’s heart; therefore, she will continue to do everything in her power to help coach, mentor, and educate maternity homes to grow and enhance their services. She considers maternity homes to be a powerful intervention in a woman’s life that can lead to ending homelessness, poverty, addiction, abuse, and introducing faith pathways that lead to families feeling connected, loved, and living the life God has intended for them. To create a culture where abortion is unthinkable, we must dismantle the barriers that are used against families today.
Gina Tomes had the honor of speaking at the 2023 March for Life in Washington DC on behalf of Maternity Homes throughout the United States.
Gina was honored to receive the Omaha INSPIRE “Public Service” winner 2022 Excellence in Woman’s leadership
